Built in Dublin, for the people answering alarm calls at 3am
We started with a simple observation: the most predictable overnight crisis in security monitoring is not the rare real alert. It is the volume of false positives that makes real alerts hard to spot.
Dispatchers told us what they needed. We built it.
Mark Harkin spent four months at monitoring centers across Leinster in early 2023. Not pitching, not selling. Just sitting with dispatchers through their shifts, watching what actually happened on the overnight desk.
What he saw was a staffing and attention problem, not a technology problem. The tools existed. The challenge was that dispatchers were answering fifty calls a night, forty-six of which were false positives from doors, windows, and motion sensors. By the fourth hour of that, the real ones started to blur.
Ciaran Flynn joined as CTO in mid-2023, bringing experience in real-time audio processing and voice infrastructure. Together they built Vox Talk AI around a single principle: the voice agent should do exactly what a dispatcher does on a false positive call, so the dispatcher only touches the ones that need them.
We are bootstrapped, based at 10 Hanover Quay in Dublin, and focused entirely on monitoring centers in Ireland and the EU.
Two founders, one focus
Mark Harkin
CEO & Co-Founder
Mark spent years working alongside monitoring center operations, accumulating a ground-level understanding of the overnight staffing and false-alert problems that operations managers deal with every night. He founded Vox Talk AI in 2023 after conducting field research with dispatchers across Leinster.
Ciaran Flynn
CTO & Co-Founder
Ciaran has spent his career building voice infrastructure and call routing systems, with a focus on low-latency audio processing and telephony reliability. He joined Vox Talk AI in mid-2023 to architect the triage engine and the systems that keep it running when monitoring centers need it most.
How we think about the work
Dispatchers are the product
The voice agent works to protect the dispatcher's attention, not to replace their judgment. Anything that does not make a dispatcher's night easier is a feature we have not built yet.
Reliability is not a feature, it is the baseline
In a system that handles real safety events, uptime is not something you negotiate. We treat any degradation as an incident, not a statistic. Our on-call rotation runs 24/7 for the same reason our customers need us to.
Build for EU data compliance from day one
Our customers operate under GDPR. Their callers' data stays in the EU, under controls their data protection officer has reviewed. This is not a checkbox. It is a design constraint that shaped the whole architecture.
Start with the operational constraint, not the technology
We do not build for what AI can do. We build for what a monitoring center needs at 3am. The technology follows the operational reality, not the other way around.
